This is our standard design service and is a hands-off approach where your design preferences guide the direction but you don't have to deal with any of the heavy lifting. There is a budget minimum of R200 000 for this service.
- Step 1: Complete our questionnaire, send some photos of your existing home and any inspiration images/your Pinterest boards + send your house plans. Once I've had a look I will invoice you for a refundable deposit of R5000 for the first meeting (this is refunded towards your project costs should you continue with the project).
- Step 2: 60-90 minute meeting in person or on Zoom to get an in-depth brief on your style preferences. After our meeting I'll send you an invoice for R20 000 to cover my time to put together a concept and rough budget based on your brief. This is refunded towards your project costs should you continue with the project.
- Step 3: (2 weeks) I’ll present a rough budget and a style guide for your project to make sure we are on track in terms of the look and costs. You'll have a chance to give feedback and I will tweak the concept for any changes. No actual furniture pieces will be shown at this stage, it is just conceptual.
- Step 4: Once the style guide and rough budget is approved you will be invoiced for 15% of the estimated total cost to appoint Lulu Interiors to work on the interior design phase. The initial R25 000 paid thus far will be deducted off of this third invoice.
- Step 5: (2 weeks) I'll present a full interior design catalogue for your interior showing you exactly what items I will be procuring and manufacturing as well as all fabric samples and finishes. You will know exactly what you are getting and the costs before you proceed. You'll have a chance to give feedback and I will tweak the interior design for any changes.
- Step 6: (8 weeks after payment) Once the interior design catalogue is approved you will be invoiced for 80% of the cost to allow us to place custom orders and secure stock on your behalf. After payment is received it takes 8 weeks for us to deliver.
- Step 7: My team and I will deliver and install. I'll snag for any issues and resolve these and then recon the budget based on final prices on the day of purchase (if there are any sales etc. or where we only had estimates). The last 5% of the project will be invoiced.
Budget indication: If you would like to fully design, furnish and decorate an empty medium size room from scratch it costs around R150 000 - R200 000 and upwards (excl. design fees and delivery) for a mid-level interior. Extensive use of wallpapers, custom cabinetry, luxury furniture + finishes and large scale rooms are all over and above this base price. If you are just updating a room with existing furniture the costs are less however it's important to note that around 50% of the budget goes towards the smaller items like art, carpets, scatters, objet etc. Rooms that are next to each other like dining and lounge will also cost less as the elements work together across the space.
T+C's: I am VAT registered so VAT will be added to my fee- all budget items will already contain VAT however. Please note that medium size homes take 12 weeks depending on availability. Larger homes with multiple rooms being designed at once may require additional design time and could take 16 weeks or more so get in touch early.
One of the best things you can do before you renovate is to get a professional opinion on the full potential of your property. You can save hundreds of thousands on additions by rather making better use of what is already built. You can also solve issues like low light which significantly impact the final result and how you will feel living in the space.
The Mood Board Bundle is your starter pack to understanding your personal style and what moves you when it comes to interior design. I will take note of all the things you love, hate, already own and wish were yours. I'll then interpret this information and will compile what your 'true north' style is. Once we have this direction I'll explain the key features of the look, give you a Pinterest board to get you started and will show you a close up of how the look is executed per room type (bedrooms, bathrooms etc.). I'll also provide a taster of what types of things you would buy to achieve the look.
Priced per room* Renovating your property but don’t know which tiles to choose or how you would like your patio area to look? We can guide you to make the right design choices. This package is only available for clients who have already purchased the mood board bundle as I need a clear idea of the overall future look for the home and the furniture before I can give the correct advice on finishes. The question "Does this tile work?" is only answered by knowing what we are trying to achieve otherwise you will end up with a bathroom that clashes with the style of your home.
